Salted Caramel Layer Cake
Ingredients:
For the Cake:
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
4 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup buttermilk
For the Filling:
1 1/2 cups salted caramel sauce
1 cup buttercream frosting
For the Topping:
1/2 cup salted caramel sauce
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease three 8-inch round cake pans.
2. In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
3. In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla.
4. Gradually add dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk, mixing until just combined.
5. Divide batter evenly between pans and bake for 25-30 minutes. Let cakes cool completely.
6. Layer the cakes with buttercream frosting and salted caramel sauce between each layer.
7. Spread caramel sauce over the top layer, letting it drizzle down the sides.
