Double Cheeseburger with Bacon

Ingredients:
For the Burger Patties:

1 lb ground beef (80/20 ratio for juiciness)

Salt and pepper to taste

2 slices of cheddar cheese

For the Toppings:

2 slices of crispy bacon

1/2 onion, sliced (for grilling)

Lettuce
(optional)
Tomato slices
(optional)
For the Bun:

2 sesame seed hamburger buns

Instructions:
Prepare the Patties:

Form the ground beef into two large patties. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Place the patties on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cover the grill to melt the cheese.
Cook the Bacon:

While the patties are cooking, place the bacon strips in a pan over medium heat. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until crispy.
Remove from the pan and set aside on paper towels to drain excess fat.
Grill the Onions:

In the same pan used for the bacon, sauté the onion slices until soft and caramelized, about 5 minutes. Set aside.
Assemble the Burger:

Lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a pan for a minute.
Place the first patty on the bottom half of the bun. Layer with crispy bacon, grilled onions, and any optional toppings like lettuce and tomato.
Add the second patty on top, and finish with the top bun.
Serve:
