Classic Margherita Pizza

Ingredients:

For the Dough:

2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast

1 cup warm water

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon olive oil

For the Toppings:

1/2 cup tomato sauce

200g fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced

Fresh basil leaves

Olive oil for drizzling

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Dough:

In a small bowl, mix yeast with warm water and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy
.

In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, and olive oil. Gradually add the yeast mixture and knead until smooth. Cover and let rise for 1 hour until doubled in size
.

2. Preheat the Oven:

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat up
.

3. Assemble the Pizza:

Roll out the dough into a thin circle and place it on parchment paper.

Spread tomato sauce evenly over the dough
.

Top with sliced mozzarella and fresh basil leaves
.

4. Bake:

Transfer the pizza (with parchment paper) to the hot pizza stone or baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly
.

5. Finish:

Drizzle with olive oil before serving and enjoy this fresh classic
