Classic Homemade Cheese Pizza

Ingredients

For the pizza dough:

2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
1 cup warm water (110°F/45°C)

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp salt

1 tbsp olive oil
For the toppings:

1 cup pizza sauce

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

Prepare the dough:

Dissolve the yeast in warm water and let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, olive oil, and yeast mixture. Knead the dough for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cover and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Preheat the oven:

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). Place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat up.
Shape the dough:

Roll out the dough into a 12-inch circle on a floured surface. Transfer it to parchment paper for easy handling.
Assemble the pizza:

Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese, followed by the grated Parmesan cheese.
Bake the pizza:

Carefully transfer the pizza to the preheated stone or baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
