Classic Cheeseburger Recipe

Ingredients:

For the Burger Patties:

500g ground beef (preferably 80% lean, 20% fat)

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/4 tsp garlic powder (optional)

1/4 tsp onion powder (optional)

For Assembly:

4 burger buns (toasted)

4 slices cheddar cheese

Lettuce leaves

Tomato slices

Pickles

Ketchup and mustard (optional)

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Burger Patties:

In a bowl, gently mix the ground beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder if using. Do not overmix.

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape into patties, slightly larger than the burger buns (they will shrink while cooking).

2. Cook the Patties:

Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat.

Cook the patties for 3-4 minutes on one side. Flip, then place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cook for another 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the burgers are cooked to your desired doneness.

3. Assemble the Burgers:

Spread ketchup and mustard (if using) on the bottom bun.

Layer with lettuce, the cooked patty with melted cheese, tomato slices, and pickles.

Top with the upper bun.

4. Serve:

Serve hot with fries or a side of your choice.
