Cheesy Lasagna: Layers of Love

This classic cheesy lasagna recipe is everything you crave: rich, hearty, and full of melty cheese and savory flavors. Perfect for a family dinner!

Ingredients:

12 lasagna noodles

2 cups ricotta cheese

3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1 cup grated parmesan cheese

1 lb ground beef or sausage (or a mix)

1 jar marinara sauce

1 egg

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 cup chopped fresh basil

1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

Cook the Noodles: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

Prepare the Meat Sauce: In a large skillet, cook the ground beef (or sausage) with minced garlic until browned. Stir in the marinara sauce and let simmer for 10-15 minutes. Season with salt, pepper, and basil.

Mix the Cheese Filling: In a bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, egg, half of the parmesan, parsley, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix well.

Assemble the Lasagna: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom of a baking dish. Layer noodles on top, then spread half of the ricotta mixture and half of the mozzarella cheese. Repeat the layers, ending with a top layer of noodles, meat sauce, and mozzarella cheese.

Bake: Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the top is bubbly and golden.

Let it Rest and Serve: Allow the lasagna to cool for about 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with extra fresh parsley if desired.
