Cheesy Bacon Pasta Bake with Broccoli Crumble
Ingredients
For the Pasta Bake:
12 oz pasta (penne, fusilli, or elbow macaroni)
1 1/2 cups cooked bacon, chopped
1 1/2 cups broccoli florets, finely chopped
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
2 cups milk
2 tbsp unsalted butter
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp garlic powder
Salt and pepper to taste
For the Broccoli Crumble Topping:
1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
1/2 cup finely chopped broccoli
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 tbsp olive oil
Directions
Cook the Pasta: Boil the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
Prepare the Cheese Sauce: In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute. Slowly whisk in milk, stirring until thickened. Add garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir in cheddar and mozzarella cheeses until melted and smooth.
Combine the Pasta: In a large bowl, mix the cooked pasta, bacon, broccoli, and cheese sauce. Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
Make the Broccoli Crumble: In a small bowl, combine panko breadcrumbs, chopped broccoli, Parmesan cheese, and olive oil. Mix well and sprinkle evenly over the pasta.
Bake: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the pasta for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and crispy.
Serve: Let cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy warm with a side salad or garlic bread!
