Bacon Cheeseburger Mac & Cheese
Ingredients:
12 oz elbow macaroni
1 lb ground beef
6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
1 small onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
2 cups milk
1 cup heavy cream
2 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
Instructions:
Cook macaroni according to package instructions, drain, and set aside. In a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess grease, then add diced onion and garlic, cooking until soft. Remove beef mixture from skillet. In the same skillet, melt butter and whisk in flour to form a roux. Slowly add milk and heavy cream, whisking until smooth. Stir in smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Add shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese, stirring until melted and creamy. Combine cooked macaroni, beef mixture, and crumbled bacon into the cheese sauce. Stir well, then transfer to a baking dish. Top with extra cheese and broil for 3-5 minutes until golden brown. Serve hot and enjoy!
