Strawberry Swiss Roll Recipe
Ingredients:
Sponge Cake:
4 large eggs
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla extract
Filling:
1 cup whipped cream
1/2 cup fresh strawberries, diced
Topping:
Extra whipped cream
Fresh strawberries
Edible flowers (optional)
Pink sugar sprinkles
Steps:
1. Prepare the sponge cake:
Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Beat eggs and sugar until pale and fluffy.
Sift in flour and baking powder, folding gently to combine. Add vanilla extract.
Spread the batter evenly on the baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes.
2. Roll the cake:
While warm, roll the sponge cake in a clean kitchen towel dusted with powdered sugar. Let it cool completely.
3. Prepare the filling:
Fold diced strawberries into whipped cream.
4. Assemble the roll:
Unroll the cooled cake, spread the strawberry whipped cream filling, and roll it back tightly.
5. Decorate:
Top with whipped cream, fresh strawberries, edible flowers, and pink sugar sprinkles.
6. Serve:
Slice and enjoy this light and fruity dessert!
