Cheesy Tater Tot Casserole
Ingredients:
1 kg tater tots
500g ground beef or turkey
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 can (400g) cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup milk
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Salt and black pepper to taste
1 teaspoon paprika (optional)
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
2. Cook the Meat: In a large skillet, cook the ground beef or turkey over medium heat until browned. Add onion and garlic, cooking until softened. Season with salt, black pepper, and paprika if desired. Drain any excess fat.
3. Prepare the Sauce: In a bowl, mix the cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, and milk until smooth. Stir this mixture into the cooked meat.
4. Assemble the Casserole: In a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, spread the meat mixture evenly. Top with a layer of shredded cheddar cheese. Arrange the tater tots on top in a single layer.
5. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden and crispy.
6. Add More Cheese: Sprinkle additional cheddar cheese over the tater tots and bake for another 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.
7. Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
